Spring Wall Art Refresh

Spring Wall Art Refresh

Spring is my favorite season. I love watching the new growth pop up from the cold ground as the snow disappears. I love the smell of new grass and most of all I love being able to open up windows, letting the fresh air indoors.

Last spring was the beginning of the pandemic lockdown. Most of my favorite gardens and parks shut down so I lost one of my main outlets for creating new art. With my creativity compromised, I set about updating my own home, focusing on my home office and Kitchen since that’s where I seem to spend most of my time.

Wall Art Refresh for the Kitchen

My kitchen walls went from a dark brown to a warm, creamy white which made some of my original wall prints seem garish against my now clean slate. I started my search in my own portfolio of course, looking for pieces with softer colors that would work well vertically.

These were some of my vertical choices:

My husband nixed Option 2 right away as being too feminine for a shared space. Though I loved the Blue Door (option 4), the colors were much too strong for the lighter walls. The colors in the beach print were perfect but we don’t live near a beach and our house isn’t really beachy looking at all. In the end, we decided on Option 6 for the larger wall and 1, 7 and 9 for the accent walls. I love NYC and that’s where we met so it made sense to incorporate the photos into our home. Plus the color scheme worked perfectly with our new floors and countertop!

P.S. Not all of the above prints are currently in my shop so if you can’t find them, let me know and I’ll make sure to add them.

For my next post, I’ll share the images for my office redesign! I opted to go with a large gallery wall behind my desk with a combination of art from various places including my other store: www.cloverprintshop.com, Etsy and my own photos.
